I traveled to Budapest, Hungary for a little vacation followed by the 2011 Automattic company meetup. It was a great trip because of the people I was with. My fellow Automatticians are an interesting, intelligent, and entertaining bunch. It was a pleasure meeting so many new faces and making stronger connections with the folks I work with each day across the Internet.

When I travel I enjoy how different signs are from place to place. I was in Budapest, Hungary for nearly two weeks and saw a lot of interesting ways to communicate. I still have no idea what many of them mean.

Making S’mores

Combine graham crackers, Hershey’s chocolate, and roasted marshmallows and you have a s’more. Mmmm! I was surprised to find out a lot of people outside of the United States have never heard of this delicious treat.

Hot Air Balloon Ride

As part of our Janitorial team meetup, yesterday morning we went on a hot air balloon ride with Balloons Above the Valley. I highly recommend doing it sometime.

Camelback Mountain Hike

Hiked at Camelback Mountain today. There were a lot of people out hiking so you don’t have to worry about getting stranded here. Check out the RunKeeper activity tracking the hike, which shows the elevation changes and map of the trail. It’s the first real hike I’ve even done and was a great cardio workout. I’m going to try to hike this once a week.

The first video below is from the top of the mountain showing the 360 degree view. There is some commentary at the end where I attempt to point out the route with my finger in front of the camera.
