I’ve wanted to get more use out of nickmomrik.com for a long time. Last week I decided to combine a bunch of domains and redirect them all here. The content from mtdewvirus.com, primaryrough.com, 2holecards.com, and docardtricks.com should all be available with the old URLs being redirected.
I’ve moved from a self-hosted WordPress.org install to WordPress.com. I [...]

An Automattic 6+ Months
Leaving my old job at SVSU to work for Automattic has been great. I haven’t had a single regret with my decision.
The company has changed a lot in the short time I’ve been there. The number of Automatticians has grown from less than 20 to over 30. We acquired BuddyPress and IntenseDebate. One of our [...]

Upgraded blogs to WordPress 2.6 in just a couple of minutes using a script I whipped up. One of these days I’ll switch all of my WordPress installs over to SVN so that it’s even easier to upgrade.

From SVSU to Automattic
I started attending Saginaw Valley State University in 1998. A year and a half later, I got a job in the IT Services Support Center as a Student Technician. In 2002 I was hired as a Help Desk Analyst and graduated with my Bachelor’s a few months later. A little over a year ago I [...]

My First WordPress Meetup
On Wednesday, I attended the 2008 MacWorld WordPress Meetup at Chaat Cafe.
The first person I met was Andrew because I noticed a WordPress sticker on his laptop while we were in line ordering food. Shortly after we sat down, Matt walked in. I’ve been using WordPress since version 0.72 back in 2003, so it was [...]

WordPress Plugin: Comment Author URL Stripper
As promised, I’ve created a plugin which removes the URL from a comment author if it contains any of the words specified in the Options screen. Too many people have been leaving comments and putting in yahoo, gmail, hotmail, etc. as their web site and I got tired of editing those comments all of the [...]
