Michigan is Excited about the Detroit Tigers

The state of Michigan is excited about baseball for the first time in over a decade. Everywhere I go people are talking about the Detroit Tigers. In fact, just like night at Hooters I was wearing a Tigers hat and a random guy asked me if they were going to win game 1 of the ALCS against the Oakland Athletics. When two random people strike up a conversation you know there is excitement in the air.

I have to say that I really like their chances of going all the way. Beating up on a team like the New York Yankees can really boost the confidence of a team which lost their last 5 games of the regular season, which ended up costing them home field advantage in the first round (and now 2nd round as well). The Yankees were supposed to have the best offensive lineup in the history of baseball. “Murderer’s Row and Cano” is what they were being called by the press. Well, they got murdered. Detroit’s pitching shutdown the $200,000,000 lineup.

If the Tigers can keep the momentum going against the A’s I’m going to do everything I can to get tickets to the World Series. Something like this doesn’t come around too often.

  1. I accidently cut a guy off on M-59 the other day and instead of flicking me off he yelled “GO TIGERS” it is crazy down here. They are uniting this whole area and really taking a lot of attention off the lay-offs that are coming from the BIG 3.

I dont think anyone thought they were this good!
